Our Signature SANDWICH

“Liar’s” Reuben Sandwich – CZK 325

smoked beef tongue, horseradish mayonnaise, coarse mustard, sauerkraut and cheese on toasted bread

* Our sandwiches are served with steak fries fried in beef tallow and a small salad.

Legendary Reuben sandwich has two origin stories. Arnold Reuben claims he invented it in New York around 1914. Reuben Kulakofsky says it was him, at a poker game in Omaha in the 1920s. One of them is lying. And ours? We use beef tongue instead of corned beef. Smoked beef tongue, horseradish mayo, whole grain mustard, sauerkraut and cheese in toasted bread. The most honest things about it are the name. And the ingredients.

Nobody knows who invented tapas. One story says a Spanish king ordered his sherry covered with a slice of ham to keep the flies out. Another says it was just a practical habit of workers who needed to eat without putting down their tools. Nobody agrees. What everyone does agree on is this: food tastes better when you share it. Small plates, unhurried evening, good company. That’s the idea. The rest is up to you.
